About me..
I have taught private piano lessons for over eight years, the last six of which have been in the Charlotte area. For over 25 years, I have directed adult, youth, and childrens choirs in both church and school settings. My education includes undergraduate and graduate organ performance degrees earned at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC, and at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. I am a member of the MTNA, the Charlotte Piano Teachers' forum, and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
Teaching Philosophy
"Really? My lesson is over already?!"

I hear this comment from my students practically every day that I teach. To me, this reaction shows not only that the student was engaged in learning, but also having fun in the process.

My goal is to tailor music instruction to each uniquely individual student at all stages of learning. I believe that learning to play an instrument is a skill that lasts a lifetime. Teaching music literacy, instilling self discipline, and developing efficient learning and practice habits are high on my list of priorities.

My students enjoy a creative environment that features the most up to date piano methods, technology, music games, incentive programs, and Summer camps.
"Thank you for teaching me piano. I've learned so much from you and can't wait to figure out how to improve playing the piano with you as my teacher!"
